Who Do You Listen To?

Proverbs 8:22 (NIV) - “The Lord brought me forth as the first of his works before the deed of old”

I’ve read this passage countless times, I hadn’t grasped how significant it was that Lady Wisdom was created first. God’s very first handiwork before anything else! 

I sat with the chapter for hours this weekend, seeking to know God’s character better and recognize Lady Wisdom’s multifaceted nature, as I want to be close friends with her and with prudence. 

Wisdom is the first of the Lord’s works, Proverbs 8:22. Therefore we should be paying attention and listening well.

Choose wisdom’s instruction, nothing compares with her.

She dwells with prudence, teaching foresight.

She shows how to recognize danger and respond wisely.

She possesses knowledge and discretion.

7. What does wisdom hate?

She hates:

• evil

• pride

• arrogance

• evil behavior

• perverse speech

8. What does wisdom give?

She gives:

• counsel

• sound judgment

• insight

She loves those who love her and earnestly seek to find her.

With her come riches, honor, enduring wealth, and prosperity.

Her fruit is worth far more than gold or silver.

She walks in the way of righteousness.

She gives a rich inheritance.

She fills the treasuries of those who love her.

The Call to Action:
