When Unexpected Kindness Showed Up Again
Coming off Day 40, I felt a little unsure.
There’s something vulnerable about finishing a very intentional fast of any kind.
You’ve been listening closely. Walking in new light. Then you know it’s coming to an end, yet you never want it to be the same again.
What now?
That morning, I was gearing myself up to be positive. I’m usually the encourager. The one reminding others that the joy of the Lord is our strength.
Yet my heart felt unexpectedly heavy.
I pulled into my driveway after getting my vehicle worked on, and there she was. A beautiful young woman with fresh flowers and a gift bag from Brighten Up Nashville.
She had driven an hour to deliver flowers to widows and widowers in the Nashville metro area. Someone had nominated me.
What a sweet surprise. I was undone, yet again
The timing was precise.
Forty days of surrender… And God in met me with flowers.
The flowers were more than His kindness. They were a gentle whisper:
You are not forgotten.
You are seen.
You are loved.
“The Lord delights in those who fear Him, who put their hope in His unfailing love.” — Psalm 147:11
