What’s the ROI of Being Rooted?
Abiding in Christ is more than a spiritual concept—it’s an intentional choice to live each day with courage, purpose, and faithfulness. It’s the practice of leaning into Him through daily patterns and disciplines that shape our hearts and minds.
I’ve had reason to hear this acronym in multiple settings with diverse groups of people lately. The question is, “What’s the the ROI, the Return On Investment?”
What’s the ROI of abiding? It’s clearly outstanding: Rest, Overflow, and Intimacy.
Rest: Abiding brings peace to a weary soul. In a world that constantly demands more. The Vine offers strength, calm, and a steady foundation.
Overflow: Staying connected to Jesus produces fruit that pours into others. Acts of kindness, wisdom shared, and courage displayed are not merely human effort—they are the natural pouring out of a life connected to God.
Intimacy: Daily abiding draws us closer to Christ. It’s in these moments of prayer, reflection, and obedience that courage is born, joy is deepened, and faith is strengthened.
Scripture reminds us: “Abide in me, as I also abide in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me” (John 15:4 NIV).
Choosing to abide is choosing a life that is intentionally courageous, peaceful, and fruitful. The ROI is undeniable: a soul at rest, a life that overflows courage and encouragement to others, and an unshakable intimacy with Christ.
