Love Life and See Good Days!
Most of us want to love life and see good days (1 Peter 3:10:11 ESV), yet our reality often looks far from the truth. Interestingly enough, there are three proven responses that can help make this a reality in our lives: speak no evil, speak no deceit, and seek peace. Or paraphrasing:
Tame that tongue!
Fess up when you make a mistake, or exaggerate, deceiving yourself or anyone else.
3. Be in hot pursuit of peace.
This is more than biting our tongue when dealing with a difficult person in our lives. It goes beyond curating the “perfect” reel on social media. It stretches further than avoiding conflict by pretending everything is alright outwardly while seething inwardly.
As a pre-teen, I exaggerated when something was not as grand as I wanted it to be. Those lies hurt people. I asked for God’s help. He is faithful to transform us when we keep giving the situation to Him.
Deceitful lies work like an overzealous adrenaline rush. They must be actively resisted with radical transparency and integrity, even when the truth sounds anticlimactic or uneventful. The truth never uses manipulation.
Peace fades when being right becomes more important than loving well. When conflict grows, our true character is exposed.
The Call to Action:
Focus on one of the three areas mentioned above that helps us love life and see good days. Ask Jesus for help.
“Lord, help me speak truth, pursue peace, and honor You
in my words and actions. Give me wisdom to see
where I fall short and strength to choose what is right.”
today’s radiant insight:
Masquerading the truth erodes the soul.
